Game

BuddhaBoredom

A launch site for a calming “fading-canvas” drawing game — built to carry the game’s own quiet feeling and turn a first glance into a Steam wishlist.

The challenge

Before a game ships, its whole audience is built one wishlist at a time — and BuddhaBoredom sells a feeling that’s hard to screenshot: you make a mark, it holds for a breath, and it washes away. The site had a few seconds to communicate that calm, make it obvious what the game is, and send the right person to Steam — without loud trailers or a wall of features.

My role

Website strategy, design direction, content structure, AI-assisted development, testing, refinement, and deployment.

The approach

The page borrows the game’s own art direction so it feels like an extension of it — a warm, muted sumi-e palette of ivory and sage, a hand-brushed serif wordmark, and plenty of unhurried space. One idea per screen introduces the fading canvas, its single “let-it-go” dial, and the surfaces to draw on, then keeps one clear invitation in view: wishlist on Steam.
