Website help with the prices up front
Start with the free website check, then pick the package that fits.
Free website check
Send me your web address and I’ll reply with a short video of your site on a phone, with the three changes I’d make first.
It’s in plain words, and it’s yours to keep, with no obligation to hire me.
Good fit if: you suspect your site isn’t doing much for you but aren’t sure where to start.
Focused Refresh
For a site with a workable base that looks dated on a phone, loads slowly or buries what customers came for. A refresh keeps what works and fixes what doesn’t.
What’s included
- A redesign of your existing pages, so the important things come first
- Fixes so the site is easy to use on a phone and quick to load
- Clear buttons to call, book, order or get directions
- Page titles and descriptions written for Google
Good fit if: your site is a few years old or makes people hunt for your hours and phone number.
Small-Business Website
A complete website for a shop, café, practice, trade or studio, planned around the questions your customers actually ask: what you do, where you are, when you’re open and how to reach you.
What’s included
- Planning, design and build of a complete site
- Help shaping your text so it sounds like you
- Your phone number, hours and directions one tap away on every page
- Page titles, descriptions and business details Google can read
Good fit if: you’re starting fresh, outgrowing a Wix or Squarespace site, or your current site isn’t worth saving.
Seasonal / Visitor Business Website
For Muskoka shops, cafés, galleries, outfitters, marinas and attractions with a season. Everything in the Small-Business Website, plus the parts that change between May and October.
What’s included
- Hours that change by season, easy for you to switch over
- Events, markets and special dates you can add yourself
- Your Google Business Profile (your listing on Google search and Maps) set up or tidied, so visitors find your hours, photos and directions
- Links to the booking, ordering or ticket tools you already use
Good fit if: half your customers find you from a cottage dock on their phone. Book by March to be live for the May long weekend.
Product / App Website
A launch site for an app or product, where the product does the selling. Proof Panda’s site shows how: visitors can try the app’s receipt scan and money tools in the browser before they install anything.
What’s included
- Live, in-browser demos built from your product’s real behaviour
- A waitlist or beta sign-up
- A pricing page and an FAQ
- App Store and Google Play links
Good fit if: you’re launching an app, a tool or a product and want a site that shows it working.
Website Care
Ongoing help after launch, or for a site you already have, so you’re not the one doing the updates. For a site I didn’t build, I’ll look it over first.
What’s included
- Updates, backups and security checks
- Small text and photo changes when you need them
- Seasonal updates to hours and dates, if you’d rather not do them yourself
- Someone you can reach directly when something needs attention
Good fit if: you’d rather hand the upkeep to someone else.
Included with every project
- A fixed written quote first. Nothing starts until you’ve agreed to it, and anything extra gets its own quote.
- Clear ongoing costs. Your domain (your web address, like yourshop.ca) is about $20–$30 a year, paid directly. Hosting (the service that keeps your site online) is in your quote, and often free or low-cost.
- You own it. Your domain, content and every login.
- You can update it. Your own text, hours, menu and photos, with a walkthrough at launch.
- Google Business Profile setup, if you want it. It puts you on Google Maps with the right hours, photos and directions.
- Accessible from the start. Usable by people with disabilities, built to WCAG 2.1 AA.
Muskoka first, clients across Ontario welcome
- Muskoka shops, cafés and seasonal businesses. Seasonal hours, a menu or price list you can update, and directions that work on a phone. Who I build for first.
- Trades and cottage services. New ground for my portfolio, but the same job: your phone number one tap away, your work, and the towns and lakes you serve.
- Professional practices. A clear site that explains what you do and makes booking a first conversation easy, like Mireille & Co.
- Nonprofits and arts groups. Accessible, easy for staff or volunteers to update, and quoted in writing for your funding application.
- Artists and makers. A gallery you own, with your markets, shows and shop links, like Muskoka Brush and Cow Puzzle Productions.
- Product founders. A launch site with live demos and a waitlist, like Proof Panda.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a website cost?
From $1,800 for a Focused Refresh, $3,500 for a Small-Business Website or Product / App Website, and $5,000 for a Seasonal / Visitor Business Website. Website Care is from $59/month. Every project gets a fixed written quote before any work starts.
How long does a project take?
Typically 2–3 weeks for a Focused Refresh, 4–6 for a Small-Business Website, 5–8 for a Seasonal / Visitor Business Website and 3–6 for a Product / App Website. The dates in your quote hold as long as photos, text and logins arrive as planned.
Can I update it myself?
Yes. I’ll show you how at launch, or Website Care can do it for you.
Who owns the site and domain?
You do: the domain, the content and every login. The domain is in your name, and you pay for it directly.
I’m on Wix or Squarespace. Can you move me off it?
Yes. I’ll rebuild the site, bring your content across and keep your web address the same.
How do you help me show up on Google?
Clear page titles and descriptions, business details Google can read, pages that load quickly on a phone and, if you want it, Google Business Profile setup. No one can honestly promise you the top spot, but these are the things that count.
Will my site meet AODA requirements?
New sites are built and tested to WCAG 2.1 AA, the standard behind the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). That covers keyboard use, screen readers, colour contrast, form labels and more.
Will you sign an NDA for product work? Who owns the code?
Yes, I’ll sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) before we talk specifics. On final payment you own the code, the design and the content.
Our project is grant-funded, or we’re a nonprofit. Can you work with that?
Yes. You get a written quote for your funding application, and I can invoice in stages to match your funding.
Do you only work with businesses in Muskoka?
Muskoka comes first, but clients across Ontario are welcome, and we’d work by email and video call.
Should I refresh my website or start over?
If your site has a workable base, a Focused Refresh is usually faster and cheaper. Not sure? The free website check will tell you which I’d do.
Who will I be working with?
Me. Every email, plan, design decision and revision comes from the person building your website.
Do you use AI to build websites?
I use AI-assisted development tools to speed up the build. I personally direct the plan, structure, design, content, testing and launch of every project.
How do I get started?
Ask for the free website check, email [email protected], or use the contact page. The first conversation costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
Not sure which one you need?
